Lots of Pictures! Couldn't Help Myself.
The Purple Wave above was the first of the Wave petunias to bloom.
Salvia Marble Arch Mix above. Just starting to show a little color.
The one flower I was most curious to see bloom was the Tidal Wave Silver Petunia because I had seen pictures of it on the internet and at times they were shown as different colors. Both pictures above are both the Tidal Wave Silver...the silver one and the more lavender one. I guess Silver can be both. I like it!
I don't know if I have posted a Blue Wave Petunia yet, but here it is above. They just started blooming earlier this week.
Above is the Serenity Mix Verbena. A few flowers are starting to break on the heads. A head is made up of a whole bunch of little flowers so the buds will be much bigger than this when in full bloom.
Here is another type of Verbena. This one is called Romance Mix and has many pinks, reds and whites. They are just starting to make color. I think I will like these a lot, especially because they look like they will have a spreading habit rather than upright, which I like.
Voyager Coral Morn Petunias are very happily blooming.
Snapdragons! Starting to be able to see which will be what color.
Bacopa. Will definitely be growing more of this next year. They has turned out very nice.
Lobelia. Many different colors!
This Rose Wave Petunia is the stubborn bloomer of the group :) They are just slower than the others it seems but will make up for it in beauty later! This the stage the Rose are at now. Almost there!
Our farm's humble greenhouse! My favorite place to be this time of year. Have to remember sometimes that I have other things I need to be doing rather than just wandering around looking at the flowers. :)
I haven't really talked about anything technical lately about what I'm doing to take care of the flowers. Basically I am just fertilizing with 20-10-20 every watering. It's important to keep fertilizing consistently because if not the older leaves can turn yellow. There is not enough food for all the leaves so the new leaves steal it from the old leaves, causing the old leaves to yellow. I had this start to happen some because when it was really hot, I was just coming in and fertilizing with clear water just to make sure nothing would get too dry. Now I know to make sure to always be feeding fertilizing constantly. Although every fourth watering you can water with clear water to make sure there is not too much salt build up in the soil.
Anyway, enough technical!
Next Monday is opening day! I am looking forward to it.
I look forward to feedback about the plants. What people really liked, what people didn't like as much. What people would like to see next year new that they want me to grow. I am open to comments!
Until next time....
